Ligament Injury (Sprain)or instability

Ligaments are tissues that connect bones and provide support to joints. They provide a safe boundary for normal range of motion. When too much stress is applied to the ligaments it may tear or lose its elasticity, leading to instability of the joint and pain and swelling. You may experience a cracking, popping, or grinding sensation. Stability of the ligament is considered to be critical for maintaining a healthy joint and should be treated efficiently. Surgical intervention may be necessary for treating ligament instability.
